A publication and a compiler

Scroll World

Stories you scroll through. Built to be moved through, not skimmed.

The whole idea, one line at a time

A summary can replace an article. It cannot replace the thing you had to move through.

You are doing it right now. The pace is yours, the order is ours, and that division is the only reason this format survives an assistant that answers questions before you finish typing them.

What this is

Scroll World is two things sharing one machine. It is a publication, where we write long stories that are worth the scroll. It is also the compiler that makes them: a plain text file goes in one end, a finished scrolling page comes out the other, and the page deploys itself.

There is no canvas. Nobody sits in an editor arranging boxes. The only thing anyone edits is the story, which is the only part that should ever have needed editing.

What the library can do

Entrance

Cover

A full viewport opening with layered parallax, where the headline arrives a word at a time.

01
Pinned

Unfold

A pinned line that reveals as you scroll it, so the reader sets the pace.

02
Pinned

Steps

A sticky panel that tracks your position while the steps move past it.

03
Data

Counters

Figures that count up when they arrive, because a number landing reads differently from a number sitting there.

04
Data

Bars

Proportion shown as length, growing on entry, so the shape lands before the digits do.

05
Pinned

Track

A horizontal run of cards driven by vertical scroll. You are looking at it.

06
Structure

Compare

Two sides that arrive from opposite directions, for a before and an after that is a demonstration rather than a table.

07
Emphasis

Quote

A full width line in the display face, used sparingly enough that it still means something.

We build these for other people

Same machine, pointed at your story instead of ours. Agencies quote between ten and sixty thousand euros for work in this category. We have published exactly what we charge and exactly why it is less, in a story about it.

Here is a product page built with this engine, start to finish, from a plain text file: STILL, a demonstration build. The product is invented. The page is not.

Send us the thing you have been trying to explain properly and cannot. A rough document is enough. If it passes our own test, we will tell you what it would cost and what it would look like, and if it does not, we will tell you that too.
